As if saving money, getting in good condition, and spending more quality time with your family weren’t compelling enough the UN has now released a comprehensive report outlining the catastrophic outcome of global warming.

This is based on 12,000 peer reviewed scientific studies, so – yeah, they did their homework.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has announced that we’re basically screwed. Nice!

Rather than get into the science, politics, and controversy that slams around this issue harder than a screen door in a hurricane, I’d rather just acknowledge that we have a collective problem.

I’d also like to acknowledge that yes – there is something that we can do about it.

The list of actions that we can take range from super simple and virtually completely unobtrusive to radical.

In that spectrum, I list using a bike trailer and bike commuting as somewhere in the middle.

Sure, there’s some planning and re-tooling involved, but it’s relatively minor compared to both the societal and personal benefits.
